Chromogenic Film, Ilford XP2

Ilford XP2 is processed in standard C41 chemistry (color negative chemistry).
Ilford calls it a black and white film.

The dyes in chromogenic film, which make up the image, are formed during development rather than being present in the film or added later.

The advantages of using this film are extremely wide exposure latitude, ease of processing along with compatibility of the black and white darkroom printing process using customized filtration in the enlarger.

Ilford has subsequently developed XP2 Super, also a sharp, fast and fine grain black and white film.
